BOW & ARROW is a small masterpiece of weightless guitar pop "(Rolling Stone 02/13)

plus49 are a band without a great image. For twenty years they have been concentrating on their projects, on creative ideas and experiments. The focus is always on the music. plus49 stands for constant movement. They produced various albums, singles and soundtracks, composed the gong at Cologne Airport, music for art exhibitions and TV channels. On their last album, Integrity and Injury (2009), the concept was that none of the 18 songs should be the same as the other. With this, plus49 had succeeded in creating a small work of art, music that, like in the song Naive Brother, worked without reference points, which created something really unique. With this album behind them, the feeling of having lived creatively without constraints and without commercial pressure, the band has concentrated on their intensive live shows and various single projects in recent years. After the sad and beautiful Sad In One Hour, 2012 at plus49 was all about the Bow & Arrow crowdfunding project. The idea was a single production that should transparently reveal the mechanisms of the music business in times of copyright discussions, dwindling revenues and oversupply. The band talked about financial losses and no longer available budgets and thus convinced their fans to donate 3,540 euros for a single song. Bow & Arrow was successfully funded, produced by Ekki Maas (erdmöbel) and mastered by Christian Wright (Muse, Keane, Bryan Ferry, Franz Ferdinand) at Abbey Road Studio. The song has been on various playlists on German radio stations since November and was released as a strictly limited vinyl single. The fourth album of the band will be released on January 25, 2013. This time more spontaneous, faster, more raw and refreshingly less thought out.
